Whether you’re a student, a career driven individual, a parent, or anything else in between, we’re all struggling to find a balance in life with time management. I don’t believe that there is a formula to “have it all and maintain everything perfectly”, but there are a few ways that I’ve found to relax myself as we’re all going through different journeys. Life shouldn’t been seen as a race to sprint by, but instead finding the speed that works for you. Always take the time to make yourself a priority to keep your mind and body healthy! Here are a few tips that I’ve been practicing to keep myself relaxed and in balance.
1. Meditation and Yoga
I discovered yoga during my first year of college and this has been a sport that I’ve always gotten back into when I’m feeling stressed out or when my body gets tense. Stretching daily helps relieve stiff muscles and helps to relax my mind while I’m listening to music! Just being alone with my own thoughts to reflect on how I’m doing and my current state of feeling/emotions helps me practice mindfulness while meditating.
2. Beach Hiking
Theres something about hiking along the beach that automatically puts me at peace with myself. Maybe its the sound of the waves or the smell of the clean air, but I’ve always found myself there during my difficult moments. Immersing myself in nature never fails to put me in a good mood and by the end of the day I’m ready to start fresh and tackle any challenge!
3. Disconnecting from social media
Social media can either be an uplifting or toxic platform in terms of how you utilize it on a day to day basis. I find this platform very inspiring and a great way to connect with like minded people who have similar interests! I’ve been making new connections in the fashion community this year and its so nice to meet people through social media. In terms of having a healthy relationship with social media, we could all use some time away from it as well and disconnect to spend time with our loved ones. I’m still struggling to find a balance with social media as well, but I have been putting my phone away in the drawer when I get home to relax! You could also try a social media detox on the weekends to be more present and take some time away from your phone.
